Our college will reopen in September 2020
UPDATE REGARDING STUDENT LEARNING SEPTEMBER 2020
Studying in September
We are delighted to confirm that the London School of Osteopathy will be opening the doors of the college in September to enable the practical elements of the course to be taught in the classroom. We have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that the college environment is Covid secure for everyone attending the college.
At the college you will find:
- Increased hand sanitising stations and hand washing facilities
- Screens around the teaching desk at the front of the class
- Limiting the number of people in the college to assist with social distancing
- Keeping year groups separate to enable ‘year group bubbles’ to operate
- Providing PPE for staff and students where social distancing is not possible (i.e hands on training)
- Students changing into ‘clinical clothes’ on arrival to reduce risk of transmission of the virus
Teaching:
Teaching will take the form of blended learning. What this means for students is that practical lectures will take place within the college with increased hygiene measures in place. We will limit the number of students in any one classroom to 16.
Theory lectures will continue in the successful format we operated from March – June. This means ‘live’ timetabled lectures online via Zoom enabling you to ask questions and interact with your fellow students.
For first year part-time students, attendance in college will be one day a month with the remaining teaching days taking place via video link.
For first year full-time students this means attendance one day per week in college and the remaining teaching taking place via video link.
It’s quite easy to talk to staff and tutors, they are always available either in person or via email
Sayeh
4th Year Part-Time StudentThe LSO really helped me transition from non-academic experience (or limited in over 20yrs) to beginning a new life with a degree.

2nd Year Part-Time StudentAs a full-time student I work 20-25hrs a week on top of my studies. Last year I got married which added to extra time out of studies. Although it was demanding I was still able to commit myself and achieve well with my exams.

3rd Year Full-Time StudentI don’t think I realised quite how much in depth medical study was involved but I feel it’s great that we are taught the subject with plenty of detail. It’s very important to know this to be good practitioners in the future.

5th Year Part-Time StudentI love how much I get to learn about a subject I have so much passion for. Even though I have a long way to go yet, I’m very happy with the progress I’m making. I’m very happy with the friendships I’ve made.
